This is where it starts, with a rough drawing of the next design. Here, Jan wanted to introduce some side or lamp tables into the range. The inspiration for this one was the curve of the Buckden Dining Table.

Hundreds of drawings like this are done for every piece before a prototype is made.

The sketch is endlessly discussed and criticised, here it has reached the eagle eyes of John Barnes (on left) our most experienced Cabinet Maker and Tony Rawlinson one of our Senior Cabinet Makers.

It would be at this stage the possible problems with manufacture will be ironed out.

The first stage is to select the timber, bearing in mind the finish selected for our brochure.

All our furniture is available in almost all our finishes and of course in any colour.

Our cabinet makers work as a tight knit team. The success or failure of a piece in our range depends as much on them as on the original design - we aim for perfection.

The top has been veneered, sprayed and the finish baked on - we like our furniture to survive!

Everything we do is hand made - even the finish. Here a Special Gloss Lacquer is applied to one of our Porchester tables.

Achieving this level of finish and colour across several items on the same order has become one of our trademarks.

When several of the same pieces of furniture are ordered we like to set up a team to build and finish all of the pieces together. This way complete consistency can be guaranteed.

All our sheet timbers like this are stored in a temperature controlled environment.

Here a bespoke piece is hand polished.

After all the effort we go to to make and finish your furniture it arrives at our packing department. Enormous care is taken to ensure your furniture doesn't get damaged in transit, with everything from latex corner protectors, to individually wrapping the legs of each piece.
