SENIOR MANAGEMENT

Rob Churcher

Operations Manager

Prior to joining Jan Cavelle Furniture nearly five years ago, Rob had a varied background from making metal work for classic cars to travelling the world and working on an Australian banana farm.  He credits his ability to stay calm under pressure and his out of the box thinking to some of these experiences. He expects a high degree of loyalty and honesty from other staff and has a hatred of excuses. At weekends, he indulges varied passions from bacon sandwiches, salt and vinegar crisps, Manchester United, and (less well known) bird watching – particularly penguins.  Rob is hugely ambitious and aims to both have an Aston Martin not to mention his own name above the door.

Come on Gareth even Superman has Kryptonite! He is a secret Facebook addict! One day he wants to own an Aston Martin!

Stephen Shepperson

Stephen originally trained for a career of corporate video production.  Plans for a Jan Cavelle video will be put into action soon. He has a clear understanding of the customers’ needs and the furniture itself which aids him in his current position.

Stephen says that Peter’s coffee keeps him going all day, also relying on anything sweet being a secret chocoholic. He is still a film buff as well as being keen on all sports and the gum. His other passion is to have a good boogie after a few drinks at a weekend.

Steve is one of the two original cabinet makers of Jan Cavelle Furniture  -over ten years ago now.  Previously , he worked as an on site joiner and that plus five children has developed his hugely valuable problem solving skills.

When taking a bit of much needed time off, he enjoys his Guiness (even though it messes up his weekends) following Ipswich Town Football Club and watching the girls in New Look while waiting for his wife and daughter.  He would like nothing better than to retire before he is 50 and potter round all of France.

THE DRIVER & UPHOLSTERY

Matthew Jordan

Driver

Jordan has been with Jan Cavelle several years now having changed from his original career of decorating to that of driving.  However, the skills he picked up on site over the years often stand him in good stead when delivering.

Often the front face of Jan Cavelle, he is known for his dry sense of humour and ability to take the mickey out of anyone.  To balance the hours driving the van, he has acquired a Volkswagen Beatle that takes large proportions of his wages while still failing to go.

Peter Dobell

Jack of All Trades

Many of you may have met Peter in his role as a relief driver, or he may have checked your furniture over in despatch.  Immensely versatile and incredibly loyal, he has held many positions at Jan Cavelle and is currently running the accounts department. His background is broad but includes being a decorator but it is his can do, will do attitude that stands out the most. He loves a good curry, watching Big Brother to which he is secretly addicted, Harry Potter films, and has a weakness for a little snort of brandy

Gary Kendall

Upholstery

Gary has clocked up an amazing twenty seven years in the upholstery trade since he first did his apprenticeship in Cambridge.  He and Jan met many moons ago when he had his own upholstery business to which Jan sub-contracted. His easy going nature makes him a brilliant teacher.  He hates bullying of any kind and admits to being over sensitive himself.

He enjoys the cinema, watching all sport and is not unfeigned of a trip to the pub.  A pragmatist, Gary just wants to see his kids grow up and to be blessed with not too many problems.

Richard White
